The last conference game at Mac Court | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
It's in the books, and it's all a Duck fan could have hoped for, maybe not for a season but at least for a game. The lights went out on the final full season at Mac Court Saturday night with a 74-66 Duck win over Washington State on the scoreboard.
The capacity crowd took it all in, and many lingered on the court until ushers told them it was time to go.
Mac Court may not have had quite the same noise as it did in years past. The scoreboard didn't shake, the hoop stayed put, but the enthusiasm was there.
The crowd showed their support for seniors Joevan Catron and Tajuan Porter during pregame introductions and kept it going for the team through the final buzzer.
These last few games have given me a great appreciation for what Mac Court was. While I don't have a lifetime of history with "The Pit," I hate to see it go.
The 83-year-old building has a character unlike any other. I hope my upcoming photo essay captures a piece of it. Here are a few of the images from the final Pac 10 game.
